I first started functional training of sorts back in the Wild West - my hometown of Orange - with Some old tyres, a cheap set of dumbbells and a can do attitude. I would watch videos and try workouts I saw online.
I remember watching Miko Salo, the 2009 CrossFit games champion on YouTube doing handstand push-ups and box jumps. I couldn’t do either but I wanted to!! That was the start of my obsession.
Having the opportunity to coach at Kia Kaha has been a great learning experience and I try to pass on as much of the knowledge I’ve picked up to others.
The thing I love about CrossFit is that at every level, you can improve your skills, proficiency and fitness in so many ways.
I really enjoy pushing the limits while maintaining a healthy balance of fitness and overall wellbeing.
